During a recent stay at the magical Nimb Hotel in Copenhagen, we decided to dine in their restaurant - Nimb Brasserie. This hotel can be found located as a part of the Tivoli Gardens amusement park in the city, and Nimb Brasserie is located on the ground level, overlooking the Gardens. This makes for a stunning setting in which to enjoy your meal. We were dining during the evening in February; and witnessing the Gardens lit up by fairy lights was really quite special. We highly recommend visiting during the winter months.

When we entered the restaurant we were given a warm welcome and soon shown to our table. We decided to begin with an aperitif of two fine glasses of Veuve Clicquot, which we sipped as we made our menu choices. To start, I chose the lightly-baked salmon from Kvarøy which was served with smoked cheese, crispy rye bread and cress. This was a fresh and delicious dish, with unusual flavour combinations that actually worked very well indeed. My partner decided on the Duck liver terrine, which was served with the season's compote and roasted brioche; a rich and indulgent dish that certainly didn’t disappoint.

“With it’s fantastic location, wonderful service and delicious dishes, there’s really nothing not to love about Nimb Brasserie.”

For our main courses, I opted for the fried lobster with lemon, salad and mayonnaise. This simple yet stunning dish was a real highlight. My partner decided on the 200g tenderloin of beef served with pepper sauce and seasonal vegetables. The meat was full of flavour and perfectly cooked. We also added sides of French fries and butter-blanched green beans.

We simply couldn’t pass on dessert, for which we shared their delicious Vanilla crème brûlée with Polynesian vanilla. For our wine choice, we chose the 2015 Domaine du Pegau, Chateauneuf-du-Pape Cuvee Reservee, Rhone, France which I must say was a great choice. This wine offered a nose of dark berries and just enough spice on the palate. It was bold and full bodied.

The service at Nimb Brasserie was as excellent as the food offering. We were left wanting for nothing all evening, and it made for the most relaxing and wonderful evening. Great service is something that not all restaurants manage to achieve, so we always think it’s worth mentioning when a restaurant gets it right, and Nimb Brasserie certainly did.

We would highly recommend this restaurant as a great choice in Copenhagen. With it’s fantastic location, wonderful service and delicious dishes, there’s really nothing not to love about Nimb Brasserie. We certainly look forward to returning once again, and highly recommend that you check it out if you find yourself in Copenhagen.
