The Mere Golf Resort and Spa is a beautiful red-brick building set within acres of countryside and a championship golf course. Less than 10 minutes drive away from a well-established deer park and the local town of Knutsford, The Mere is in an idyllic location.
As you step into this beautifully built hotel, your expectations are raised by the luxurious exterior. However, the character of building doesn’t transfer inside and loses its way among the modern décor.
The hotel has been extended to the side with a new building mirroring the modern interior. Although the luxury of the characteristic hotel is lost, the new buildings excel in creating a corporate luxury perfect for meetings and business trips.
We stayed in the Queen suite; with one bedroom and one lounge area the suite provided ample space with a modern feel. All the suites offer stunning views of the lake, gardens or the 18-hole golf course.

The suite contained a large L-shaped sofa and dark-wood furnishings to match the modern décor seen throughout the hotel interior. This attention to detail gave the room a stylish and contemporary feel. All of the suites contain luxury toiletries and bathrobes.
The hotels spa facilities offer a wide range of treatments to suit every need including aromatherapy. This attention to detail and variety of facilities was also seen within the health club which contained a 20-metre indoor pool and a well-equipped gym.
The hotel’s 18-hole golf course provides championship level golf facilities and the course itself is well-maintained. The hotel also provides parking for guests and is only a short distance from the M6 motorway.
Our stay at The Mere was positive and certainly contemporary. We feel it would be best suited for those on a business trip or golf holiday due to its modern interior and variety of facilities to suit every need.
