The Ritz-Carlton, Berlin is conveniently located in Potsdamer Platz. A hotel that provides a welcome escape from the centre of this bustling and cultural city; the Ritz-Carlton is the epitome of a luxury hotel.

Boasting an impressive 303 rooms including 39 suites, one Presidential Suite and the Ritz-Carlton Apartment, this hotel is as impressive inside as it’s impressive façade intimates. We were also impressed to discover that the Ritz-Carlton, Berlin was the first five-star hotel in Europe to be certified by the European Union Eco-Management and Audit Scheme. We’re always pleased to see a luxury hotel that’s also environmentally aware.

"We’re always pleased to see a luxury hotel that’s also environmentally aware.”

Upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly welcome and our luggage was taken from us, along with our car keys, as we were promptly checked in. We appreciated the pianist who created a warm sense of elegance in the hotel’s lobby, before we were pointed in the direction of our luxury room; of which we were certainly not disappointed.

Our room was very spacious, and certainly delivered the “wow” factor our expectations are accustomed to when it comes to anything with ‘The Ritz-Carlton’ label. Beautifully decorated and equally as stunningly furnished, this room speaks of classic elegance.

The Ritz-Carlton boasts a great bar, known as the Curtain Club, which is one of Berlin’s coolest hotspots. Of an evening, the hotel has a Beefeater greeting guests at the entrance, which is a novel touch.

The hotel also offers a beautiful La Prairie Spa, which as well as being open to hotel residents, is also a day spa and health club. The spa itself offers signature La Prairie treatments as well as a good-sized swimming pool. The fitness suite features a wealth of state-of-the-art equipment, for the more active guest.

We got the sense, during our stay, that everything about the hotel is deliberate, in that the hotel’s attention to detail is very high. The interior design was masterminded by Peter Silling and authentically reflects Berlin. The artwork throughout the hotel compliments the rooms perfectly, with classically traditional pieces. It’s simply beautiful.

We would thoroughly recommend the Ritz-Carlton, Berlin as a fantastic luxury hotel, perfect if you’re travelling for business, but even better if you’re travelling for leisure. It’s a great base from which to explore Berlin, and offers all the special luxury touches you can expect from one of the biggest names in the luxury travel industry. A real favourite!
