The Crazy Bear in Beaconsfield is situated in a great location, right on the High Street. Having visited The Crazy Bear last year, and promising ourselves we would return, this year, we kept that promise.

The exterior of The Crazy Bear is purely a façade (both literally and metaphorically). We were once again surprised when we walked through the doors of the red brick building and entered another world of eccentric luxury.

This boutique hotel’s style is truly unique, and remains for us difficult to describe. However if we were to say that the interior and furnishings depict flamboyant decadence, I don’t think we would be too far off.

No expense has been spared. A rich, dark colour palette interspersed with gold finishings compliment the ornate carvings and sculptures, giving The Crazy Bear its infamous indulgent ambiance. Complete with marble staircase, polished wood and leather seating, the attention to detail is impeccable.

“The Crazy Bear is just the place for those who want to truly escape”

This year we stayed in room ‘3’, and we were certainly not disappointed. Room ‘3’ is a den of leather and gold. The beamed ceiling, leather floor, old brick fireplace and heavy velvet curtains give the room a sense of pure luxury.

A copper bathtub at the end of the bed, big enough for two is also a notable feature of room ‘3’, and the bathroom also boats a drench style shower, as well as his and hers toilets and sinks. It’s the perfect room for a romantic night away.

The Crazy Bear, Beaconsfield, has two restaurants - one English and one Thai. We opted to dine in the Thai restaurant during our stay, which was fantastic. The food was delicious and the décor of an expectedly high standard. The ambiance of the room was unique, yet reflected the Thai influence. It was a great experience.

The bar is also an experience in itself. The magnitude of the bar itself is notable, with the room furnished with leather banquettes, gold-trimmed velvet chairs and beautiful chandeliers. Well worth visiting for an aperitif.

The Crazy Bear also boats a beautiful terrace with a pool, offering a great outdoor space for good weather days. There is also a Jacuzzi and plenty of seating, should you wish to relax with a cocktail and enjoy the surroundings.

It’s also worth nothing that the hotel has two experienced Thai Massage therapists, who have over ten year’s experience. Their massages are an excellent way to unwind whilst at The Crazy Bear, so if it sounds like something you might be interested in, be sure to make some time for that.

Although you can do your best to describe The Crazy Bear, it really is one of those places that you have to visit for yourself to understand. If you’re looking for a unique boutique hotel that has pure luxurious quality, then this is the place for you. It’s very chic, and very cool, and when you’re there, you feel as though you have been transported to another world. The Crazy Bear is just the place for those who want to truly escape. If you’re looking to stay there, be sure to research the rooms before you book, as each one is styled around a different theme. Picking out your room extends the experience before you even arrive!
