Located close to the beautiful Georgian city of Bath, The Bath Priory Hotel is a privately owned country house that emanates charm and tradition. Oozing character and a country feel, the hotel is based in a tranquil corner of Bath, giving the hotel a charming location while ensuring that guests are close to the city.

The hotel was originally built as a private residence in 1835 and still retains the gothic touches and dramatic features that have kept the building so striking for hundreds of years. The hotel also offers guests the opportunity to walk through the renowned gardens which provide many plants, flowers and sculptures to tempt the senses.

“We were fortunate enough to stay in the Cavendish Suite; refurbished in 2012, this group of suites is based within a self-contained house with a view of the gardens.”

The hotel restaurant is lucky enough to have Sam Moody, a Michelin star chef, at its helm. Sam creates flavoursome and exciting dishes using local ingredients, including those grown in The Bath Priory kitchen garden. Other facilities available in the hotel include a spacious drawing room with large sofa for guests to relax, a spa, a swimming pool and well-wept gym.

We were fortunate enough to stay in the Cavendish Suite; refurbished in 2012, this group of suites is based within a self-contained house with a view of the gardens. We stayed in the Cavendish Suite which has been recently refurbished and was filled with bespoke furniture and designed with the heritage colour scheme in mind.

The suite contained a separate lounge with a comfortable sofa, large window and traditional furnishings. The bathroom was very spacious and contained a centre piece bath with spotlights below, creating an impressive glow around the bath. The bathroom also contained a walk in shower and his and hers sinks.

The bedroom itself demonstrated the same British charm seen throughout the suite and contained a large window complete with window seat. The bedroom also offered a large and comfortable Vi Spring bed which has been custom made to fit The Bath Priory luxury suites.
