The stunning Elizabethan Boringdon Hall Hotel & Spa, is located on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park in South Devon. A stunning location close to Plymouth and the A38 makes this manor house not only easily accessible but situated in the stunning southern countryside perfect for an idyllic weekend away.
Renowned for its ‘Gaia Spa’ Boringdon Hall is the ultimate spa-cation, with state-of-the-art facilities which boasts 42 luxury rooms and suites, two award-winning restaurants Àclèaf and the Mayflower Brassiere, manicured grounds and spaces to host private or corporate events making it a destination for everybody no matter the occasion.
During our visit at Boringdon Hall we had the pleasure of staying in one of their Four Poster Rooms. These beautiful rooms have been meticulously restored to offer some insight into Boringdon Hall's history - exquisite antique furniture, stunning stone fireplaces and rich furnishings set the scene for an unforgettable stay. Our Four Poster Room oozed luxury and comfort, with all the necessities one could need for a weekend of relaxation as each room comes with GAIA skincare toiletries and all Boringdon Hall guests receive 10% off at the famed Gaia Spa.
"A place steeped in history that has been beautifully thrust into the modern era."
It would not be a trip to Boringdon Hall without experiencing the Gaia spa, as soon as we settled in, we made our way over to check out the facilities and look at the treatments on offer. We were pleased to see a large indoor heated pool available to use as well as a hydrotherapy outdoor poor that overlooks the surrounding southern countryside.
At Gaia there is an extensive range of therapies to enjoy such as the Finnish sauna, crystal salt steam room or the Alfresco hot tubs which are located on an outside patio and are available for private hire. Gaia also houses a fully air-conditioned gym that is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including Pelton bikes, cardiovascular and resistance apparatus as well as separate changing rooms with ample locker room space. Gaia’s extensive treatment list was hard to choose from and it is not hard to see why this spa is award winning as they excel in providing thorough services that leave guests feeling rejuvenated whether that be via their Champagne Enzyme Facial or the Gaia Hot Stone Massage, Gaia has something for anybody who is looking to leave feeling utterly relaxed and relaxed we were. By the time we left the spa we were ready to explore our dining options and ease ourselves more into the Boringdon Hall lifestyle.
On site there are two restaurant options, each depending on the style of dining you are after. Àclèaf is the perfect choice for those wanting a MICHELIN star fine-dining experience, keeping in theme with Boringdon’s air of grandeur and opulence. A nine-course seasonal menu curated by Head Chef Scott Paton this exclusive experience unique to Boringdon Hall is not one to be missed, featured in the Michelin Guide we highly recommend an evening here for those wanting a taste of the finer things. The Mayflower Brasserie is also a wonderful option for those wanting a more relaxed but still sophisticated dining experience that celebrates a seasonal menu and is open for all day dining at a time that can be suited to you whether that be for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Our visit to Boringdon Hall Hotel and Spa will not be our last and we left our little weekend away feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and ready to book another stay as soon as possible. The Gaia Spa was our highlight and we cannot recommend it highly enough!
