Le Pavilion de la Rotunda is located in the heart of Charbonnières-les-Bains, in the west of Lyon. The hotel has clearly had some modernising over the years and has a contemporary look to it. It does feel a little dated in places but this didn't put a downer on our stay.

The hotel has some wonderful gardens and surrounding greenery. There is plenty to do for anyone interested in the great outdoors, and visiting in spring or summer is a joy.

"We were well looked after and enjoyed our stay."

We stayed in a Junior suite, a spacious well-presented suite with a small terrace. The living area was comfortable and provided a great place to relax, a large plasma screen swings round making it visible from either the lounge or the bed. There were electric window blinds all round. The bathroom was well presented, and had a jacuzzi bath and a steam room shower.

Le Pavilion de la Rotunda is located out of town, so you get the beauty of luscious countryside without the noise and bustle of town traffic. It makes for a great weekend escape, or a longer stay if you're deliberately avoiding the city. There is a casino next door for entertainment if gambling is your thing, and the indoor pool and fitness rooms cover your fitness needs.

Being a small hotel allowed for a very personable feel with the staff, which was nice. We were well looked after and enjoyed our stay.
