Saint Felix is located in a rather trendy part of Hollywood. It has an interesting décor, a casual menu and friendly service. We had a wonderful table which was one of several booth-style tables that are set back from the main dining floor.
We started the evening with a couple of pre-dinner cocktails. I ordered the ‘Watermelon Martini’, It was mixed with Watermelon Vodka, Watermelon Mixer, and a slice of Watermelon. My partner ordered the ‘Desperado’, a fiery cocktail comprising of Crushed Red Bell Pepper, Fresh Mint and Orange Bitters, Pressed Tangerine and Lime Juices, then hand shaken with Milagro Tequila. The end result was a delicious cocktail with a nice kick.
To begin with we shared a plate of El Jefe’s Nachos as a starter. This dish comprised of Fresh Tortilla Chips, Cheese, Jalapeños, Guacamole, Pico de Gallo and Sour Cream with Grilled Shredded Chicken. It was an overly indulgent dish, but very enjoyable.
“Saint Felix makes for a wonderful evening.”
For our main course we ordered Chicken Capellini. A dish prepared with Fresh Chicken Breast with Tomatoes, Shallots, Garlic, Basil, Peas, and Angel Hair Pasta Sautéed in a White Wine Cream Sauce, a simple but enjoyable dish, the presentation and execution of flavours were spot on. My partner ordered Braised Beef Short Ribs, a tasty dish with Slow Cooked Boneless Short Ribs that were packed with flavour, served with Goats Cheese, Mashed Potatoes, and Grilled Spring Onions.
We couldn’t manage dessert after two indulgent and satisfying courses. We did enjoy a delightful bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, 2012, throughout the evening. A full bodied wine with strong fruit and spicy notes, perfect with meat dishes.
We will be returning again in the future to sample more I’m sure. With the friendly and prompt service, and lively atmosphere, Saint Felix makes for a wonderful evening of dining.
