The Sanctum Soho Hotel is a hotel with a rich rock and roll history situated in London’s Soho. The rock and roll theme can be felt immediately on arrival with huge wall-mounted photography with the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Lemmy Kilmister on display, you can certainly tell the property is marketed towards those who want a rock star-style experience. It’s not surprising considering that the partners of the hotel are Andy Taylor and Rod Smallwood, two of the music industry's most prolific managers.

The lighting throughout the hotel is subdued, and this carried on into our suite. We experienced a Loft Suite during our visit. The suite was stylish with some lovely touches, such as the door handles being adorned with crystals. The suite was art deco in design, and there is plenty of glitz and glamour to carry on the rock star feel.

“A chance to experience a small slice of a rock and roll lifestyle.”

The roll-top bath takes centre stage which is located within the bedroom area, next to the bed is which is also a large focal point of the room, it was a very comfortable king size bed, with a huge leather headboard, and was dressed with a contrast of light and dark bedding.

The size of the suite is quite vast, you could easily house a small party of friends. The amenities were perfectly adequate, with free WiFi, an in-room safe, a large flat screen TV, a mini bar which was a personal favourite which is actually designed to look like a Marshall Amp, and of course a sound system to play your favourite rock songs.

Staying at the Sanctum Soho is a chance to experience a small slice of a rock and roll lifestyle. The furnishings are intriguing, the rooms are spacious with unique touches throughout, and the staff were a joy to deal with, it’s certainly worth a visit if you’re looking to stay in Soho.
