I've attended 2 or 3 meetings at this hotel in the past so I was familiar with the place already, I'd only ever had a drink here so I was looking forward to sampling their food.

The bar area is always pretty full which doesn't make for a relaxing time, however on this day the sun was shining and people were eating outside the hotel which looked really nice and inviting, this didn't look like a restaurant from central London.

My starter was broccoli fritters with feta and a lemon capers dressing, I've never really been a fan of capers for some reason however this dish really worked well, full of flavour I couldn't fault this dish in anyway.

The main dish was a sweet potato, shitake and coriander curry with coconut rice, the presentation was excellent, although a very English looking curry this didn't put me off as the smell was just inviting me in to start this wonderful looking dish, the dish was covered in a bush of coriander which I moved to one side until I finished the rest. Again everything just tasted so fresh you could taste each of the individual ingredients which when put together is just a joy to experience.

To follow I treated myself to a strawberry meringue which was made up of strawberry ice cream, crushed meringue, fresh strawberries, strawberry syrup and cream, this was the perfect finish to a perfect meal.

It's very refreshing when you can have a meal from start to finish without finding fault, so I must give a thumbs up to the Oscar Restaurant and 5 stars as this really is a place I would love to return to, if you plan to do the same then try to go in the warmer months of the year when they open onto Charlotte Street and let you eat outside.
