No.11 Cadogan Gardens in Chelsea is housed inside an imposing Victorian Building near the King’s Road. It’s a trendy hotel in a very trendy part of town and delivers exactly the experience you would expect from the location.

For once, the use of the word “boutique” in the marketing is warranted. This hotel is a modern take on decoration, merged with a large amount of traditional furniture and wall decoration. It is original, classy and merges the traditional and modern very well.

We were met at the door by a smiling hostess and escorted to reception, where another smiling staff member took our bags to our room. Check-in was fast and efficient and we were on our way in no time.

We had the Louis Suite, which was a good-sized room with a separate sitting area, bathroom and a large, decent bed. The room size was average by London standards and plenty enough for our needs. The bed was comfortable and the room was light and airy, so we slept very well indeed.

“No.11 Cadogan Gardens in Chelsea merges the traditional and modern very well.”

The bathroom was well fitted out, with a separate bath and shower, lovely sink, Molton Brown products and a feeling of subtle decadence that made us feel well looked after.

The hotel also has a restaurant, bar and gym. Each offers great value in a small package. The dining room is modern, with a mirrored ceiling and photographs everywhere. It’s an interesting concept and the breakfast there was very good.

There is also a mirror room, a library, outdoor terrace and plenty of places to sit and relax over a cup of tea and a newspaper. A lot of effort has gone into how this hotel feels and how it treats you as a person. We found it comfortable and relaxing and appreciated the numerous public spaces to just sit.

No.11 Cadogan Gardens in Chelsea deserves to use the term boutique. The service is great, the bed very comfortable and the entire proposition is impressive. We would definitely stay here again.
