    Crazy Bear Group Review

    Crazy Bear Group Review

The Crazy Bear Group, headed up by founder and entrepreneur Jason Hunt, offers a unique collection of venues acclaimed for their flamboyant and eclectic style. The Group began in 1993 when Hunt bought what would become his first hotel: The Crazy Bear in Stadhampton. Hunt’s vision was to inject life and personality into the hospitality industry beyond London; an aim that he has most certainly achieved.

The Crazy Bear, Stadhampton is located inside a 16th century building, which has been transformed into a luxurious combination of traditional English architecture and Crazy Bear’s signature eccentric style.

The hotel in Stadhampton is also home to the Crazy Bear’s farm and farm shop. The Crazy Bear Farm Shop supplies artisan produce to all of its restaurants, and provides menu inspiration. The farm and farm shop were the first in the world to become TSG approved and were also awarded for welfare excellence by Compassion in World Farming.

The Crazy Bear farmland also plays host to a wealth of outdoor pursuits including their ever-popular clay pigeon shooting.

“You will not find a group of venues more unique in style - and trust me, we’ve looked!”

The organic growth of The Crazy Bear Group saw Hunt open its Fitzrovia bar and restaurant in 2004. The opening of this Fitzrovia sister venue saw a more urban adaptation of the original hotel, which quickly developed its reputation, receiving many awards and offering fans of the group a more metropolitan experience.

In 2008, Hunt was to open a second hotel in Beaconsfield, located inside the oldest documented building in Beaconsfield, before the opening of The Crazy Bear Member’s Club in Covent Garden completed the collection in 2009.

We have been fortunate enough to have visited both the Stadhampton and Beaconsfield hotels and have been simply blown away by The Crazy Bear Group’s style and hospitality. I was very interested, but not at all surprised to learn that the Beaconsfield hotel is 85% composed from over 50 different types of leather. Now, that’s true extravagant luxury!

One of the reasons we’re so fond of The Crazy Bear Group is because the venues are privately owned and it really shows. Jason Hunt has done an exceptional job of making these venues stand out from the crowd. You will not find a group of venues more unique in style - and trust me, we’ve looked! In fact, we’ve never come across anything quite like The Crazy Bear Group throughout our world travels, and I for one think that is a trait deserving of celebration.

The organic growth of The Crazy Bear group has allowed for a collection of venues with no hidden agenda. These venues have been created through a clear love of hospitality and style, and not simply to realise a long-term business plan. Their covert, word-of-mouth marketing tactics ensure these venues retain a certain level of exclusivity, whilst always remaining popular travel destinations.

The Crazy Bear Group constantly surpasses our expectations whether it is by an extra special stay, or a particularly excellent experience at one of their infamous summer garden parties. This is a group that have really put themselves on the luxury hospitality map of fun, stylish and indulgent luxury venues and we are very excited about what is to come from them in the future. They’re certainly one to watch.
