The Seven Sins of Scott Paton |
Head Chef, Ŕclčaf |
|
Scott Paton, Head Chef of Ŕclčaf (formerly The Gallery) joined Boringdon Hall Hotel & Spa in 2016, following stints at The Horn of Plenty and The Jack in the Green.
As Head Chef at The Horn of Plenty, time experimenting allowed Paton to realise and develop his own cooking style which, at Ŕclčaf, he describes as “truth with elegance”.
His dishes are simple, yet sophisticated, allowing quality ingredients to shine through. The Gallery at Boringdon underwent an extensive refurbishment and rebrand in 2020 to become Ŕclčaf, which has since gone on to win 4 AA Rosettes (2022) and a MICHELIN star (2023). |

Wrath - What makes you angry about the hospitality industry?
When guests are referred to as customers, or worse, clients!
Greed - If all your food fantasies came true what would be on your Plate?
A perfectly ripe peach straight from the tree.
Sloth - What do you do to unwind?
I love to enjoy a great glass of red wine probably a Californian Cabernet Sauvignon or a buttery Chardonnay from Burgundy.
Pride - What are you most proud of?
Building Ŕclčaf and the team around it to earn a MICHELIN star.
Lust - Is there anything that you are still lusting to achieve?
A MICHELIN star was that lust, hero for now, relentless excellence, and probably 5 rosettes and 2 stars next.
Envy - who are you most envious of?
I’m actually not envious of anyone, I know how lucky I am.
Gluttony - have you ever over indulged?
The night of the MICHELIN awards, mixing Champagne and whiskey… I felt that for the next few days.
