The Lazy Cow in Warwick is an interestingly named town centre hotel that is part steak house, part guest house. The location is excellent, in the city centre close to everything, meaning you can park your car and explore everywhere on foot.
The branding is a bit of fun, with the cow theme running throughout. Their rooms are called either Moo Room, Woodland Room or Black and Gold Room. We stayed in a Moo Room, room 8.
The hotel was busy when we arrived, but we were soon checked in and sent on our way by a smiling receptionist. The first impression was of a nice pub, with a tidy outside space for sunny days and a nice inside space for the rest. Everything was in good condition, well looked-after and there seemed to be a comfortable buzz about the place.
The room was a good size, with decent windows letting in a lot of high quality light. The neutral décor is comfortable and the dark wood furniture adds much needed character to the surroundings.
“The Lazy Cow Hotel in Warwick is a trendy, well-branded hotel and steak house.”
The centrepiece was the king sized bed with a cowhide runner and huge leather headboard that stretched from the bed up to the ceiling. The mattress was firm but exceedingly comfortable, the covers soft and warm and the pillows just right. We slept very well there.
There was also a small desk and seating area with two armchairs, a small wardrobe and en-suite that completed the layout. The room also had a large LCD TV with Sky, coffee machine, nice chocolates and Wi-Fi.
The bathroom was modestly sized but well-formed. It had a combined bath and shower and single basin but was in great condition and completely clean. It also included lovely fluffy towels and products from The White Company.
The Lazy Cow Hotel in Warwick is a trendy, well-branded hotel and steak house. It’s comfortable, service is pretty good and we wanted for nothing. For a city centre venue, it was of a high standard and we would happily return here again.
