We had a great day out at Sea World in San Diego. There is one roller coaster thrill ride called the Manta that is for adults, but apart from that it’s a family friendly attraction park. The Skytower is a great place to start. It’s near the entrance to the park, you go up in a lift and get treated to views across the whole park and the San Diego area.
The highlight of our visit was the Journey to Atlantis. It’s a water ride, so you’re going to get a little wet – but it’s worth it. It has a steep drop like a water flute ride, but is a much longer ride. There are in fact three different drops, some sharp corners, and you will be holding on for dear life as it speeds around the track.
“We had a terrific day out.”
Most people go to Sea World to be up and close with some of the spectacular animals. They run shows at intervals throughout the day. Giving you the chance to watch Shamus whales being fed, Dolphins doing some amazing tricks, and you can even watch a Killer Whale jump several feet up out of the water and crash down soaking the audience.
It’s only fair for me to tell you that there are ‘soak zones’. So you can sit outside of the splash zones if you don’t want to get wet. For me personally, it’s all part of the experience. But each to their own.
We had a terrific day out. With so much on offer for all the family, we’re positive you will too.
