A restaurant that we keep coming back to is Buddha Bar in Paris. It's a place that holds a special place in our hearts, and we are yet to be disappointed. Buddha Bar stands out even in Paris as a place to be seen. This restaurant has a special kind of ambience, hard to explain in words but it's very captivating when you are there.
The location is superb, it's situated on the Rue Boissy d'Anglais, the menu is excellent, they have a cocktail list to satisfy everyone, and the staff are very attentive. It's a great dining experience.
On this occasion as we arrived at our table we ordered a couple of glasses of Domaine Pierre Geline Fixin 1er Cru Pinot Noir, 2009. A medium ruby red coloured wine that delivers a beautiful arrangement of subtle woody, liquorice, and cherry flavours.
"We keep coming back because the food is so good."
We ordered a sushi appetiser to start with, a Special California roll, and a Spicy Tuna Roll. Both very tasty, and certainly opened up our appetite. For our starters we ordered the Grilled Shrimp and Calamari, this came with a Green Papaya salad. As well as the Tacos with Tartar of Beef, which came with Eggplant Caviar. Seafood is always a great starter when prepare right, and the Calamari was delicious. The same can be said for the Tacos, crunchy and well prepared.
Our main course was the Crispy Sea Bass, which came with a drizzle of Nam Pla Sauce, and the Grilled Beef Fillet, accompanies by Japanese Béarnaise Sauce. Both dishes came out of the kitchen looking like they had been meticulously prepared, and tasted superb. The Sea Bass tasted like a fresh catch of the day, and the grilled Beef was juicy and flavoursome.
With the food being so enjoyable we figured we should sample their dessert menu. We ordered a Frozen Nougat with a Strawberry Tartar, and the Gratin of Fresh Fruits, which came with a lime sorbet. Both desserts were indulgent, delicious, and rounded off a very good evening.
We keep coming back because the food is so good, a firm recommendation and I'm sure we will be visiting again.
