    The Daily Drinker

    11 April, 2019

The Daily Drinker is an online wine delivery service that not only takes the hassle out of finding and ordering wine to make sure your wine collection is never lacking, they also find interesting and lesser-known wines that you’d otherwise never have sampled.

If you’re interested in trying their service, they offer four different membership options. You can get started with their Trial membership for just £32 and sample 2 bottles of fine wine turning up on your doorstep, or dive in with their Bronze, Silver, or Gold membership options and start having 6, 12, or 24 bottles of wine delivered to your door each month.

You can select whether you want red, white, or a mix of the two, they also introduce two new wines every month carefully selected by their experienced wine procurement team.

We were excited to discover this company as we always welcome sampling new wines carefully selected by people in the industry driven by their own passion and enthusiasm for fine wine, and that’s exactly what you get from The Daily Drinker as the businesses is headed up by Caspar and Victoria Bowes, a self-proclaimed "Healthy wine-obsessed husband and wife team”.

We’ve had the pleasure to experience our first batch of six wines, and were excited to receive the following selection that we have to say we were more than impressed with:

First up was the 2017 Moschofilero Feast, Semeli Wines - A superbly crisp and fresh wine, it really livened up the palate with some interesting, spicy notes.

2017 Furmint Egy Kis, Barta Pince - This was another interesting wine, with strong citrus aromas and delivers quite the bite on the first tasting.

2016 Nas-Cetta, San Silvestro - A rich golden wine which would be perfectly at home, this was one of our personal favourites.

"The membership program and service offered is nothing short of impressive, and we are eagerly looking forward to our next delivery.”

2016 Episode 18 ‘P.S. I Love You’, The Liberator, DeMorgenzon - As deep and meaningful as its name, this rich red has a nose of dark fruits and delivers plenty of spices and a delicious lingering aftertaste.

2017 Cinsault Gallardia, De Martino - We were introduced to lightly spiced dark fruits when opening the bottle, it’s a medium red with a dry structure.

For the final bottle we enjoyed their 2017 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Le Salare, SABA - Best described as an earthy Italian wine, with high acidity and some interesting brambly fruit notes.

The only downside is that we have to wait for the next delivery. Although, if temptation becomes too much we can always browse their online wine cellar and place an order in the meantime.

We can’t recommend The Daily Drinker highly enough. Being wine enthusiasts ourselves, it’s important to us that we’re dealing with a company that shares the same passion as we do. The membership program and service offered is nothing short of impressive, and we are eagerly looking forward to our next delivery.
