Located in Downtown LA, Beelmans Pub delivers as the name would suggest. They serve a great selection of cocktails, beer and wine, and there is a huge amount of atmosphere to soak up. They have plenty of rock star photography adorning the walls, which gave us something to look at while waiting for our drinks. The food is simple, but enjoyable, and it's perfect for a casual night out with friends.

We opened the evening with a couple of cocktails. I had the 'Hotel California', which contained a lovely blend of Rum, Apricot Liqueur, Pineapple, Lime, Fresno Chili Peppers. If you like a little kick in your drink, this is one for you. My partner had the 'Aviation', which was a Gin based cocktail, including, Maraschino Liqueur, Creme de Violette, and a squeeze of Lemon Juice. Very refreshing.

"The atmosphere was the key takeaway."

We ordered some snacks to enjoy with our drinks. We had a plate of Edamame, served with some Chili, Lime and salt. We also had a plate of fish tacos, prepared with Grilled Mahi Mahi, Cilantro Jalapeno Cabbage Slaw, Lime Crema, and Sliced Avacado. Another dish with plenty of spice and heat to excite the palate.

We enjoyed a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, 2012. A fruity wine with a strong body of berries and plum aroma. It went down a treat with our chosen dishes. The atmosphere was the key takeaway from our time at Beelmans. That's not taking anything away from the superb cocktails, and food. An all-round fun experience, and one we'd happily experience again.
