Claridge’s is located just off New Bond Street in London’s affluent Mayfair. New Bond Street is known for its excellent shopping, however, you are forgiven for skipping on the shopping in favor of experiencing everything Claridge’s hotel has to offer.

Claridge’s attracts the rich and famous from all over the globe, none more notable than the Queen herself who dines in the Royal Suite once a year. There are few hotels that can match this level of luxury, the unique opulent touches, and the level of service that leaves you feeling like royalty.

The hotel opened its doors back in 1898, the design of the building is timeless and the furnishings inside have been immaculately maintained. As soon as you pass through the revolving door and see the deep shine on the chequered floor and sweeping staircase, you know you’re somewhere special. The hotel had an Art Deco makeover in the 1920’s and set a precedence then for attracting top artists, entrepreneurs, and socialites.

Each of the 203 rooms in Claridge’s are unique and offer something quite special in the way of comfort and design. We experienced a Deluxe Junior Suite, which was spacious, and included a separate lounge area, a wardrobe you could get lost in, and some breathtaking features that date back to the hotel’s inception.

It’s not often you want to spend hours in the bathroom, but with the extra deep bath, and a mix of early 1900’s design and all the modern features you need for a relaxing soak, it’s like a personal haven where you can let your imagination run wild and imagine all the famous personalities that have spent time in these rooms.

“The epitome of traditional, British elegance.”

While at Claridge’s you must sample their award-winning afternoon tea service. Served in their grand reading room you’re treated to some of the most divine sandwiches, scones, and cakes. Served on the finest china, and the tea is carefully poured from silver teapots that look like they may have been original features from the kitchen.

Fera at Claridge’s is the proud creation of Simon Rogan, and the Michelin-starred food doesn’t disappoint. You’re spoiled for choice with their menu, and the dishes change with the seasons to keep ahead of the curve with the finest modern British cuisine.

You may want to visit Claridge’s bar, here they have an exceptional selection of rare and exotic drinks to sample. While The Fumoir is an intimate room that feels like it captured the glitz and glamour of the 1930’s and has never changed. The perfect place for a cocktail or pre-dinner aperitif.

Claridge’s is the epitome of traditional, British elegance. If you want to surround yourself with luxury, enjoy some of the finest cuisine in London, and immerse yourself in a wealth of history, Claridge’s is the first choice every time.
