On our recent road trip to Las Vegas we decided to take the Lexus GS F for a test drive. We have had the pleasure of driving other models from the Lexus’ F collection and been left more than impressed, the GS F is one of their sport models so we were excited to take it across the Nevada desert.

The Lexus GS F is something special to look at. You have to get used to seeing heads turn when driving this model, and for all the right reasons. We had a metallic blue colour which gorgous, looking at the exterior the car has an aggressive looking nose, with huge air intakes and sleek headlamps common across the Lexus range. There’s a front splitter, boot spoiler, skirts, and all the trimmings that come with a sporty body kit.

Inside the GS F is where you really start to be impressed. The interior is super-sharp and elegant and the racing seats provide a firm but comfortable driving position. We had all the gadgets and toys we could wish for, with a GPS system, climate control, and an impressive sound system to mention just a few of the highlights. We managed to enjoy my David Bowie collection while driving to Vegas and had a wonderful experience.

“It’s a pleasure not a chore to drive.”

Under the hood there is plenty of power, 471bhp to be precise. Unless you have handled a car with this kind of power before you’re in for a surprise when putting your foot down. The handling is up to task and you feel in complete control when driving the GS F, but it’s not for the faint-hearted and not to be unleashed on public roads, that’s for sure. The car sits on 19” alloys and sits low to the ground for extra control, and being a rear-wheel drive you have plenty of traction when taking off from standstill.

Even though the GS F is a sports car we had plenty of room in the trunk for all our luggage. The driver and passenger positions are spacious too, you can drive long distances and still feel relaxed when leaving the car. We wouldn’t hesitate to drive the Lexus GS F again it’s a pleasure not a chore to drive, it gets a firm recommendation from us.
