    The Seven Sins of

    Proprietor, Eclectic Hotel Collection
The Eclectic Hotel Collection, owned and designed by Eamonn and Sally O’Loughlin, currently operates a total of four luxury destinations within Manchester: King Street Townhouse, a baby grand hotel; Great John Street hotel, a converted Victorian school house and finally, Eleven Didsbury Park and Didsbury House, charming townhouses situated in the leafy suburb of Didsbury.

Sally began her career as make-up artist for Granada TV; however, on the purchase of Eleven Didsbury Park, Sally adopted the role of Interior Designer translating her passion for the arts into Eclectic interiors and respectfully expanding on the allure and unique qualities of each property.

The rich history in each of the Eclectic Hotel Collection’s properties is simply a part of the charm. King Street Townhouse, located within the upper King Street Conservation Area of Manchester city centre, is the newest addition to the Eclectic family having opened its doors in 2016. The hotel is an impressive Italian renaissance building, designed by local architect Edward Salomons and originally built in 1872 for the Manchester Salford Trustees Bank.

Wrath - What makes you angry about the hospitality industry?
     Seven Sins
The deliberate abuse of people’s character and business on social media. Regretfully many people believe to be an expert journalist today.

Greed - If all your travel fantasies came true where would we find you?
     Seven Sins
Picture a small secluded wood clad hotel, simply and tastefully decorated, nestled amongst sand dunes and opening straight onto a quiet beach, with attentive but discreet hosts to look after your every whim. Apart from the majestic and prominent lighthouse on the edge of the bay, there’s nothing taller than the pine trees. A short walk along a sandy lane brings you to the centre of the small town with a daily local produce market, delightful boulangerie, chic shops, an abundance of rustic barefoot cafes and good quality local restaurants, time to wake up!

Sloth - What do you do to unwind?
     Seven Sins
I’m always happy pottering around our lovely garden & vegetable patch in my wellies and taking long walks along the river, close to our house, with my family.

Pride - What are you most proud of?
     Seven Sins
My husband and our management team. We worked incredibly hard to devise, develop and launch King Street Townhouse; a huge undertaking as a project but one which I’m incredibly proud of.

Lust - Is there anything that you are still lusting to achieve?
     Seven Sins
Our Managing Director is French, we often joke that we desperately need a hotel on the coast, South of Bordeaux, especially on a rainy day in Manchester.

Envy - who are you most envious of?
     Seven Sins
When I was younger, there were certainly times when I was envious but age makes you truly appreciate what you have. The word is no longer in my dictionary.

Gluttony - have you ever over indulged?
     Seven Sins
Yes, last weekend, enjoying an evening with friends sampling wine over a 5 course dinner at The Cellars, King Street Townhouse!
