    Escape Lounge, Stansted Review

    Escape Lounge, Stansted Review

Located at Stansted Airport, their aptly named Escape Lounge is essential for anyone seeking a place to relax pre-flight. The Escape Lounge provides a sanctuary within the terminal building, aside from a few footsteps and the familiar sound of suitcase wheels and handles extending, you could probably hear a pin drop. It’s this kind of calm oasis within the organised chaos of Stansted Airport that can really make a difference to your travelling experience, and we certainly recommend experiencing this lounge.

The lounge opened in 2015, so it’s still relatively new. It’s spacious, and the decor is contemporary and simple. You can opt to sit at a table and chairs if you’re eating, on some of their comfy sofa options, or there are some lines of airport-style linked chairs. It’s refreshing to see an abundance of empty seats at Stansted, even during peak hours.

“A welcome part of our travel experience when flying from Stansted.”

There is a good selection of complementary foods and beverages throughout the day to choose from. We were travelling early morning, so we experienced the lounge during breakfast. There was a light buffet of fruit and cereal on offer, and several hot items which were made to order such as boiled eggs with soldiers and bacon rolls. There was a vast selection of juices and soft drinks to choose from too, so whatever your preference of morning juice, you’ll likely find it.

The lounge also has screens detailing all the flight information, making it easy to keep an eye on your boarding gate, so you can enjoy the experience right up until your flight starts to board, giving you a blissful transaction from lounge to plane with minimal fuss.

As soon as you step foot over the threshold of the lounge you leave the bustle of the airport behind, you can feel and see the calm. The Escape Lounge is now a welcome part of our travel experience when flying from Stansted.
