The Hilton Newcastle Gateshead can be found in the Gateshead area of the city. Being as close as it is to the River Tyne, this hotel is not short on wonderful views, and its location offers the perfect base from which to explore this fantastic city.

When we arrived we were greeted and checked in by a friendly member of the reception team and soon shown on our way to our room. During our stay, we experienced one of their Executive rooms, which featured a large and comfortable bed, as well as a bathroom with a combined bath and shower. The room itself was fairly simplistic, although there was plenty of space. We did thoroughly enjoy the impressive views which overlooked the river Tyne.

The main benefit of having an Executive room is being able to use the Executive Lounge during your stay, which offers a quiet space in which to escape the hustle and bustle. You can also have your breakfast in the Executive Lounge if you so wish, and there are complimentary soft drinks offered throughout the day along with wine, beer and canapés during the early evening.

“The hotel is both convenient and comfortable.”

In terms of the facilities this hotel offers, one of the bonuses is their large car park, which makes travelling all the more simple. This is a welcomed service and one that is rare these days for a city centre hotel, so we were very pleased to be able to make use of it.

Inside the hotel itself you will also find a good sized spa and gym, offering all the latest equipment. There is also a swimming pool as well as a sauna and steam room, should you be looking to relax and unwind during your stay. You can also experience great views from the hotel’s bar and restaurant, Windows on the Tyne Bar and Windows on the Tyne Restaurant.

If you’re looking to explore outside of the hotel, around ten minutes away you will find a fantastic selection of shops bars and restaurants. We love Newcastle in general as the architecture is beautiful and there’s always a fantastic atmosphere.

We found the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead to be a great place to stay whilst visiting the city. It is both convenient and comfortable and we would have no hesitation in returning on our next trip to Newcastle.
