The Trump Turnberry Hotel was simply beautiful, from the moment we arrived, the hotel was on hand to cater to our every need and ensured we had an exceptional stay, providing us with the perfect haven to escape the world for a moment or two - allowing us to relax, rejuvenate and recharge from our busy lifestyles.
Located on the west coastline of Scotland, this hotel is in the heart of Ayrshire; offering rich culture and history … as well as multiple awards in hospitality including ‘Luxury hotel of the year 2022’, ‘No.2 in the best gold resorts in Europe 2021 and 2022’ ‘Best hotels in Europe in 2018, 2020, 2021’ and the list continues. From these points alone, you can understand why we just had the most perfect getaway.
"From the hotel’s location, service and design, everything was just perfect."
When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by ‘Graham’, one of the hotel’s front-of-house managers; who introduced us to the hotel, checked us in and invited us to our luxury guest room. And we were astonished by every detail the room boasted; with ocean views from our floor-to-ceiling windows, richly furnished decor that reflects the resort’s iconic history, and a deep soaking bathtub - each finished to the highest of standards. We felt like we had entered an absolute dream; feeling automatically calm and laid back. This bedroom was a sanctuary where we could not wait to wake up in and experience the rest of the hotel’s antinomies.
To begin with, we wanted to immerse ourselves in the ‘Ailsa golf course’ that has been home to four of the Open Championships. The course that the resort boasts is perfect for any golfer, regardless of age or ability - they have courses that range from complete beginners to those who play at an advanced level. They also offer indoor teaching facilities - this was one of the main reasons why we selected this hotel for our weekend away, and it went above and beyond our expectations.
That evening, we booked ourselves into the hotel’s spa; offering an oasis of pure perfection. With a wide selection of signature treatments created by the in-house therapists, we selected couples deep tissue massages, body scrubs and facials; and it was the perfect treatments that soothed both the mind and body.
In terms of wining and dining at The Turnberry Hotel, it did not disappoint. We checked ourselves into the 1906 restaurant; the talented chefs have taken inspiration from both the land and the sea surrounding the resort to create regional dishes found on their menu. The hotel works closely with local suppliers to produce dishes that are seasonal, fresh and simply divine.
We would highly recommend this stay to anyone needing a weekend or mid-week getaway; from the hotel’s location, service and design, everything was just perfect.
