On a recent trip to the Cotswolds, we decided to stay once again at the Cotswold House Hotel, which can be found located in the quaint village of Chipping Campden. We’ve always had a certain soft spot for this hotel, which provides a great base from which to explore the delights of the beautiful Cotswolds. You can expect a rural experience, with roaring log fires, plenty of walking options available, and the opportunity to explore some of the prettier areas England has to offer.

The main hotel itself is located inside a townhouse building overlooking Chipping Campden’s village square. When we arrived, we were given a warm greeting and felt instantly relaxed as we were shown to our room. During this visit, we were staying in a cottage room, which was located on the ground floor in one of the hotel’s cottages.

Having stayed at Cotswold House Hotel several times over the years, one of our favourite highlights about this hotel is knowing each visit will be a different experience from the last, as no two rooms are alike. Their cottage rooms are characterful and fairly spacious, complete with a king size bed, a built-in wardrobe, minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, and a flat screen television. The bathroom was of a good size, complete with a combined bath and shower along with a washbasin and toilet.

“It comes recommended by us as a great place from which to explore the Cotswolds, or to simply take some time out of the city to unwind.”

In terms of facilities, Cotswold House offers a beautiful spa that comprises of several treatment rooms, as well as a hydrotherapy pool and a steam room. This is a great place to visit if you need to unwind, and certainly comes recommended by us after a day of exploring.

In terms of dining options, you will find the Fig Restaurant, which is a great choice for an enjoyable meal, as well as the more informal Bistro On The Square, which also comes recommended as a more casual dining experience. You’ll also find the Gin Garden, which is the perfect place to indulge in their selection of fine gins.

Once again we were impressed with our stay at the Cotswold House Hotel, and look forward to returning again in the future. As always, the service was faultless, and this hotel provided the ideal country escape. It comes recommended by us as a great place from which to explore the Cotswolds, or to simply take some time out of the city to unwind.
