Neni is an interesting restaurant situated in the 25Hours Hotel, it's has a contemporary design, very simple yet interesting. A casual atmosphere, but sensational food. There is something subtle and underwhelming about the restaurant, almost modest yet the food really raises the bar.
Our chosen bottle of wine for the evening was Altitudes, Ixsir, 2010. A wonderfully spicy aromatic wine, with subtle hints of blackcurrant and vanilla. A delicious wine that has good versatility.
To begin we ordered Neni’s Mezze, with Hummus, Tahina, and Israeli salad with Pita bread which came with 3 Falafel pieces. A lovely dish with middle-eastern flavours, they blend perfectly and woke up the palate. Along with a dish of Tuna with Pistachios, served on a Salt Stone with Fennel Pepper Pomegranate Salad. A delicious light starter with excellent presentation, again the flavours were very crisp and fresh.
"We enjoyed the experience from start to finish."
For our main course we opted for their Lamb Chops with Cacao Sauce, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, and Beetroot. I enjoy Lamb Chops that are cooked well and preserve the flavour, and Neni got this spot on. The meat was easy to cut and very juicy. My partner had the Walnut Chickpea Burger with Tsatsiki, Tomato, and Iceberg Lettuce and Chunky Fries. A delicious burger, the walnut and chickpea gave the burger a unique flavour.
To finish off we shared a New York Cheesecake with Baked Apple Sorbet and Sour Cream. A lovely cheesecake, well executed like all the food we had throughout the evening. I cannot speak highly enough of the food at Neni's, we were very well looked after and enjoyed the experience from start to finish.
