Black by ezard is located inside The Star in Sydney, Black by ezard is a steakhouse offering an interesting menu which is well executed. The service is friendly, and our Italian sommelier who looked after us was very knowledgeable and took care of our recommendations. The food was faultless, we enjoyed every dish. We love the interior design, their use of low level lighting, and the ambience was a hoot. We cannot find a bad word to say about Black by ezard, it gets a thumbs up from us.

With a little help from our sommelier we ordered a bottle of Mori Chianti Riserva Sangiovese, Tuscany, Italy, 2010. A smooth and velvety wine with strong fruity notes.

"Black by ezard is a must visit."

To begin we ordered Prawns, served with Sautéed Spencer Gulf, White Polenta, Smoked Tomato and Coen, Pork Crackling and Mixed Herbs. A superb dish and a wonderful way to start the evening. My partner ordered Spanner Crab, which came with Chilled Salad, Cucumber, Apple, Avocado and Wasabi Puree, Yoghurt Ice and Squid Ink. These dishes were perfection.

Moving on we ordered the 200g Fillet Grass Fed Angus with Green Peppercorn and Cognac Sauce, the Cognac Sauce was delicious, it complimented the fillet very well. We also ordered the 400g 30 Day Dry Aged Ribeye, a cut of Grass Fed Angus with Mushroom Sauce. We added a side of Potato with Buttered Desiree Puree, Creamed Corn with Basil and Onion Rings, and Asparagus Wood Grilled with Gribiche Vinaigrette.

We could have sampled their dishes all night if we had room. Every dish we had was faultless and we cannot find a bad word to say.
