The Ragged Cot is a country pub set in the heart of Gloucestershire. It’s just a stone’s throw from Stroud and Minchinhampton Common, one of the largest commons in the Cotswolds and a place where cattle roam freely and you can be at one with the countryside in all its unspoilt natural beauty.

The property has two garden areas which provide a great place to enjoy the fresh country air, and there is a shed where you can pick up coffee and cakes. The Ragged Cot also has a restaurant with seating both indoors and in their well kept garden. They also cater for large families or parties of people, as well as seating and tables if you’re travelling as a smaller party.

“We had a fabulous time and could have happily spent a lot longer at The Ragged Cot.“

Our room was intimate and is perfect for those looking for the country pub style experience with plenty of charm and comfort. The decor is contemporary while still managing to play homage to the country with a shabby chic look that includes tweed cushions, silver taxidermy above the bed, and a shiny silver trunk.

For those interested in haunting tales and are feeling brave we suggest you check out the literature in the room. The Ragged Cot is said to have ghostly activity and the building has housed a few past horrors, nothing too alarming however so don’t be afraid.

The Cotswolds is a beautiful part of the country, there are endless old streets to explore, small villages, and sweeping green countrysides. Staying in a country Manor House like The Ragged Cot is the perfect way to experience this part of the country, we had a fabulous time and could have happily spent a lot longer at The Ragged Cot.
