The Porch House is part of the Brakspear Group of pubs and hotels. This hotel can be found in the charming Cotswold area of Stow-on-the-Wold. The building itself holds a wealth of historic charm and character, which was a joy to experience. The façade is traditional and suitably quaint amongst the picturesque setting of Stow-on-the-Wold.

We were welcomed warmly as we entered Porch House and escorted to our room. During our stay, we experienced one of their Feature Rooms, which overlooks the front of the hotel. The room was rather spacious, with the signature Brakspear décor present throughout, which we simply adore.

The highlight of the room itself is the roll top bath that you will find positioned just under the rear window overlooking the hotel’s terrace area. The bathroom isn't short on space either and also has a large walk-in shower in addition to the bathtub. In the bedroom you will also find a Roberts radio, a retro phone, a few shelves with an intriguing choice of books, and finally the much welcomed espresso machine. There's also two flat screen TVs and a comfortable sofa.

“This hotel really does provide a charming Cotswold experience and one we'd happily repeat.”

The Porch House has a beautiful restaurant and garden that offers a great area in which to dine, along with tables outside the front of the hotel amongst the bustle of the street, which is most enjoyable on a sunny day. You can also dine both in the Dining Room or the Conservatory, the restaurant serves up a wonderful menu full of delicious dishes that are locally sourced where possible.

The location of The Porch House is perfect for anyone looking to explore Stow-on-the-Wold. The town itself boasts lots of independent shops and boutiques, which we highly recommend exploring. Not to mention the wider surrounding area, which offers a wealth of wonderful Cotswold countryside and plenty of stunning walks. Being so close to towns such as Cheltenham also offers opportunities to visit some great racecourses, as well as some great shopping and restaurants a little further afield.
