Villa Neri is a five-star “resort” located in Linguaglossa, Sicily. We’re using the term “resort” a little tentatively here, as although that is how it is officially described, we would say it is more of a hotel.

The reason we’re hesitant to describe it as a resort to you, is that other than one indoor, and one outdoor swimming pool, the resort doesn’t have any gym facilities, and lacks certain other features one might expect.

“The area is absolutely stunning, and the hotel itself is very beautiful.”

That being said, once inside the hotel, it really starts to feel like a five-star property. Everything from the high quality furnishings, beautiful lighting, to the authentic Sicilian touches, really makes this hotel very special indeed.

When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff, efficiently checked in, and shown to our room. We were impressed that our room had a spacious terrace; the only downside is that it looked over the kitchen. So whilst attempting to relax, we were greeted with the noise of clinking pots and pans.

Nonetheless, we were impressed with the beautiful bathroom, and the room was very comfortable indeed.

The hotel itself is located in the shadow of Mount Etna, so it’s a perfect base from which to explore. It’s well worth making the most of the surrounding area, so be sure to seek some advice from the helpful reception staff. The only downside about the location is that it is quite a way from the sea; however, the outdoor swimming pool is an adequate alternative for those wishing to indulge in some swimming.

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Neri, the area is absolutely stunning, and the hotel itself is very beautiful. We would certainly recommend it for anyone looking to make the most of Italy’s gorgeous scenery.
