The Taj Hotel Compton Place is located on the edge of Union Square in the centre of San Francisco. The hotel is a well-recognised landmark in the city. It was built over 100 years ago, but don’t let that lead you to think this hotel is anything less than luxury. The location is excellent too, you find yourself right in the heart of the bustling city and are just steps away from designer shopping and a host of great bars and restaurants.

Our room was on the 14th floor, which offered some impressive views over the city. The room included an espresso machine, mini bar, plasma TV, and a small desk which is handy for catching up on some work ,so it’s a good choice for the business traveller. The bathroom had a separate shower and bath, and was adorned with warm tones of marble throughout. the decor throughout is soft tones of beige, brown, and white, in-keeping with the hotel’s decor.

“The hotel is a well-recognised landmark in the city.”

The Taj Hotel is home to the two-Michelin-starred Campton Place Restaurant. There is also a bar and bistro if relaxing with an evening drink is of more interest to you. Or, if you are in the mood to indulge the Campton Place Restaurant offer a nine course degustation menu.

If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in the heart of San Francisco that captures the real essence of the city, then the Taj Hotel Compton Place ticks all the boxes. It’s a traditional hotel, the staff are helpful, and we’re sure you will have an experience to equal ours.
