If it's a prime location you are interested in then the Sofitel Paris Le Faubourge is situated in the mesmerising epicentre of Paris. Everything seems like it's just steps away from this hotel; a few steps to Jardin des Tuileries, a few steps to the Champs-Élysées, a few more steps to the river Seine, and every luxury brand and high end restaurant at your fingertips.

The hotel is on a private road, guarded by police, which makes it hard to believe you're in the centre of Paris. Being situated next to American embassy, security is high on the agenda - this provides the hotel with an added air of exclusivity. As not a lot of traffic passes its doors, it's fair to say that it sits on a street that is almost pedestrianised.

The entrance to the hotel is luxurious, yet somewhat unassuming. The hotel really opens up as you journey past its couture wedding dress display and into the lobby. Sofitel has its own signature scent, which is a great way of branding. Your nose almost knows you've arrived quicker than you do.

The hotel is immaculate, everything feels brand new and it has a contemporary style that is devoid of any remnants of cheapness. Colours are classic, with black offsetting many of the canary yellow colour pops in the lobby.

"...it delivered in every way a Global brand should."

After a swift check-in we arrived at our Collection Suite, which has a host of fabulous design elements that kept us intrigued throughout our stay. Our suite in design is fairly similar to the lobby, and it's clear to see how all the design elements of the hotel marry together throughout.

The suite is inspired by the salon of a fashion house and is designed by Didier Gomez, so it's aspirational elements offer an air of seduction. Everything in the suite has its place; its open plan design means that you can lounge in an 18th century armchair and take coffee underneath the black and white style portraits without feeling like you're only a few steps away from the bed.

The Sofitel brand has dedicated a vast amount of time to ensuring that their guests have a good night's sleep. Comfort is so high on the agenda that it's likely that you'll have a better night's sleep at the Sofitel than in your own bed. If this is the case you can purchase one of Sofitel's expertly designed beds and all of the trimmings. If that feels a little ambitious you can certainly spend a night or two exploring the hotels extensive pillow menu.

Located next to the bedroom are two sliding doors and sumptuous drapes that open to reveal the bathroom. The first thing you will see is the deep set bath tub in all its glory, the less attractive but necessary features such as the toilet are located to the back of the room behind closed doors. Aside from the bath there is a wet room and twin basins, so you can brush your teeth in unison with your loved one.

We found every element of this Sofitel Paris Le Faubourge experience a pleasure, and it delivered in every way a Global brand should.
