The Langham is a charming hotel full of character on the Southbank in Melbourne. The location is perfect if you wish to be surrounded by good restaurants, bars and cafes. It's in prime position by the Yarra River, and you're just minutes away from the train station and the main city.

We stayed in a Grand River Corner Room, which gave us impressive views across the Yarra River and the central business district. The room was furnished with lovely crafted furniture and rich fabrics. The facilities included a private bar, tea and coffee making facilities, flat screen TV.

The room was spacious throughout, with a good sized bedroom, a large marble bathroom with a separate bath and shower, and the lounge area was fitted with comfortable furnishings. We were very impressed with the room, the traditional decor was in keeping with the public areas of the hotel, and there was a classic luxury feel which was rather pleasant.

"We enjoyed our stay and would return in a heartbeat."

We had access to the Club Lounge on the 24th floor. Here continental breakfasts, tea and coffee, and other refreshments are served throughout the day. With canapés and alcoholic aperitifs being served as the evening draws in. The atmosphere is laid back and sophisticated, the lounge is a great place to do a spot of work or just relax with a drink.

Other facilities in the hotel include their Melba Restaurant, a bar and lounge, a gym and spa which leads through to a pool, and in-room afternoon tea service. We loved the pink Langham London Taxi outside the hotel too, it served as a welcomed reminder of home. The staff at the Langham went above and beyond what was expected to help us feel welcome, we enjoyed our stay and would return in a heartbeat. When it comes to experiencing the Southbank in Melbourne, The Langham is the perfect choice.
