Whilst staying at the Park Hyatt in Melbourne we decided to visit the Radii restaurant, we were treated to live acoustic music on the night we visited, which was a pleasant surprise. We had a lovely secluded table on a platform which gave us a great view overlooking the singer, we couldn’t have asked for a better table.

The atmosphere was relaxed, and the décor is sleek and modern. The cuisine is modern European, and the service is attentive and prompt. The restaurant features an open kitchen, so you can observe your meal being prepared.

We started the evening with an aperitif, we ordered a couple of glasses of NV Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut. A refreshing and rich champagne with a full bodied flavour. We also ordered a bottle of Penley Estate ‘ Phoenix’, Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra, SA for our table. A lovely wine, with a full body, soft tannins and a long lingering finish.

“Live music, great food, and outstanding service.”

To begin we ordered Hand Cut Tagliatelle with Black Truffle, Pecorino and Pink Sea Salt. A simple, but delicious dish. We also sampled their Wood Roasted Calamari, with Carnaroli Rice, Sorrel, and Lemon and Olive Oil. The Calamari was delicious, very fresh and well prepared.

For out main course I ordered the Salt Bush Lamb Chop with Cucumber, Yogurt, Roasted Garlic and Charred Zucchini. The Lamb Chop was divine, incredibly tender and well-seasoned. My partner ordered the Milawa Chicken Jerusalem Artichoke, with Lardo and Tarragon. We also ordered side dishes of Hand Cut Potatoes with Smoked Salt, and Grain Salad with Lentils, Wild Rice, Bar Berries and Yogurt. The main dishes were superb and we enjoyed every mouthful.

We completed our evening by sharing the Crème Caramel, which was most enjoyable and left us full and satisfied. Every dish throughout the evening had outstanding presentation and flavour to match. The live music, great food, and outstanding service all made for a memorable evening, and one we recommend.
