Sugar Junction is one of the worst kept secrets in Manchester. It’s a uniquely interesting establishment, by day it’s an intimate Tea room and by night it’s a vibrant cocktail bar. There is a real kitsch, vintage vibe to Sugar Junction, it’s like stepping back in time briefly.

We frequented by night to sample their cocktails and had the following; The Dutch Affair, starting with a Vodka base, adding Strawberry Liquor, Pucker Up Lover Tea, and a Soda finish. Served with ‘Penelopes’ Strawberry and Vanilla Ice Cream. It was an absolute treat, a tea flavour infused vodka cocktail and ice cream is a combination to die for.

The next cocktail was the Lady Bedfordshire, a Cucumber and Gin base with Elderflower Tea, Gingerbread Liquor and Camomile Flowers. Served with Edible Flowers and an Elderflower Jelly. Making this an aromatic and refreshing drink.

"Plenty of intriguing and different flavour teas and cocktails to peak your interest."

Next we ordered a Peppermint Old Fashioned, a punchy cocktail with a Woodford Reserve base, infused with Peach Liquor and Peppermint Tea with Cinnamon flavours. It comes with a side serving of delicious, rich Chocolate Brownie. Very nice, would certainly left wanting more.

Lastly was The Snapper, a Portobello Road Gin base, with Port, Sugar Junction Bloody Mary Spice Mix and Tomato Juice. Complements with a side of Brie, Bread and Chutney. A wonderfully delicious blend of flavours.

We enjoyed all of these spectacular cocktails with a Cheese Board. Including Mature Cheddar, Cornish Brie and Blue Stilton with Chutney, freshly baked Bread, Celery and a Pickled Onion.

Superb experience from start to finish. The staff are passionate about their menu and very knowledgeable, and some of the cocktails are truly unique and interesting. Definitely worth paying a visit if you’re in the area, plenty of intriguing and different flavour teas and cocktails to peak your interest, I absolutely recommend Sugar Junction.
