Apple TV has quickly become a go-to product for us, due to the amount of travelling we do, it’s almost up there with the phone charger on the list of “what to pack”. It has become second nature to make sure that this product is always with us, and here’s why...

For reasons unknown to us, most hotels still have limited TV options. Apple TV allows us to get around this annoyance by giving us a way to watch our favourite shows, and discover new ones on-the-go.

All we have to do is login to our iTunes account and we’re away. The only difficulty we then have is deciding on which latest movie to watch, and what to order for room service.

Apple TV also allows us to access our Netflix account, which means I am able to pick up where I left off on the gripping last episode of the latest Netflix Original series. It’s the ease of things such as this that has made this such a go-to product for us.

And it’s small. It’s easy to transport, and to carry around. So it’s the perfect travel companion.

“The time from deciding to watching is just a matter of seconds with this technology.”

When teamed with Apple’s Siri Remote, one of our favourite features of the latest Apple TV box is the voice and search functionality. The remote’s touchpad offers a really simple experience that is super easy to navigate your way through, even for the not-so-tech savvy, and the user interface is clean and pleasing to the eye.

Also being able to speak to the remote and receive an excellent, responsive search takes all the hassle out of pressing multiple buttons in a bid to find a show. The longest part of the process is deciding what to watch, but the time from deciding to watching is just a matter of seconds with this technology.

The other thing that makes this product so travel-friendly is not having to worry about batteries or having to charge it up all the time. This is big for us. When we received it, the remote was already fully charged, and that charge lasted for months before it required to be charged again. And charging was a simple process.

We would thoroughly recommend Apple TV to anyone who wishes to transform a television into a smart television very easily. It’s perfect for travelling, but also perfect for use at home.
