Located in the Cotswolds and surrounded by acres of well-maintained gardens and woodlands is The Hare and Hounds. The hotel has an impressive facade, it's built from Cotswold stone and resembles the stereotype most of us attach to large regal traditional country houses set in the country. You will not be short of activities to keep you busy too. There's plenty to explore inside, as well as the surrounding woodland areas. Highgrove house is only a mile away, and the historic Cotswold market town of Tetbury is just two miles away.
After a brief check-in we were shown to our suite. We were in the outer building at the rear of the hotel, and our suite was named 'Ash'. We were on the first floor, and it was easily accessible by a flight of stairs.
The suite itself is complete with a separate lounge area, and separate bedroom and bathroom. The lounge was a decent size, and included a plasma TV, a small sofa, a small desk and lamp. Everything you would need for relaxing break, whether you choose to relax or do a little work.
“The Cotswold has some stunning scenery.”
The bedroom was very spacious too, and the bed gave us a comfortable night's sleep. The bathroom was well presented and had a separate bath and walk-in shower. The hotel doesn't have its own gym or spa, but there is a leisure centre within a short drive providing everything you'd need.
Before dining in their restaurant we enjoyed a pre-dinner drink in one of their lounges. This gives guests the opportunity to kick back and enjoy some super comfortable arm chairs.
The staff were friendly throughout, and we were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. If you haven't visited the Cotswold's before The Hare and Hounds should be on your to-do list. The Cotswold has some stunning scenery, and The Hare and Hounds is the ideal place to stay.
