Le Richemond Hotel in Geneva boasts stunning views, fine dining and luxury accommodation to impress even the fussiest of guests. But Le Richemond also has another trick up its sleeve in the form of its glamorous, contemporary and vibrant Le Bar. Famed for its creative and delicious cocktails, Le Bar tempts customers from far and wide and has them returning again and again to experience the warm atmosphere and creative beverages.

During our stay at Le Richemond hotel we were delighted to have the opportunity to visit the bar bar. Upon our arrival, we were delighted by the beautiful Art Deco design and furnishings to create a vibrant atmosphere in which to try the extensive choice of cocktails.

We tried a selection of light dishes to begin with, starting with penne arrabbiata. The pasta was extremely delicious, clearly high quality and perfectly accompanied by the spicy but equally enjoyable arrabbiata sauce, which certainly packed a punch.

“Le Bar tempts customers from far and wide.”

We also enjoyed a traditional spaghetti bolognaise, which was thoroughly enjoyable, along with the prawn tempura, which were beautifully presented and a wonderful dish to enjoy while sipping beautiful cocktails.

Specialising in cocktails, Le Bar’s cocktail menu is as impressive and vibrant as it’s décor. Featuring everything from classics to exclusive creations, we were spoilt for choice by the huge selection. To begin we tried an exciting Breakfast Martini, which was a tangy combination of gin, marmalade, orange liqueur and lemon juice. It was extremely enjoyable and the citrus flavour cut through the alcohol perfectly.

To follow, we sampled a Cappuccino Martini and a Black Martini. The Cappuccino Martini was, as is implied by the name, an alcoholic take on a coffee classic. Made with vanilla vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso and lots of cream, it was the perfect combination of high quality coffee flavour, delicious cream and a vodka kick. Certainly one to try. The Black Martini packed more of a punch, containing vodka, raspberry liqueur and a lemon garnish. Not one for the feint of heart, this is a very strong but beautifully flavoured drink that has a delicious fruity undercurrent.

We followed our selection of martinis with a classic: the Moscow Mule. Combining the wonderful flavours of ginger beet, vodka and lime juice, the Moscow mule was warm with a refreshing kick thanks to the combination of vodka and lime. The beautiful balance of ingredients and impressive presentation made this the highlight of our evening.

Finally, we enjoyed a Star Passion cocktail. Containing a fruity blend of passion fruit, passion fruit liqueur and vanilla vodka, this sweet blend of wonderful ingredients was delicious and a wonderful way to finish an evening of creative and delectable cocktails within such a glamorous atmosphere.
