The Bull Hotel can be found located in the charming Cotswold market town of Fairford. This hotel resides in a Grade II-listed coaching inn, which retains a wealth of original character. The Bull Hotel was recently taken over by renowned chef, Sebastian Snow, and his wife, Lana, who have transformed The Bull into a foodie destination of choice. The Bull now offers both restaurant and private dining spaces and a traditional pub bar, complete with roaring open fires and an abundance of local craft beers.

During our stay at The Bull, we experienced one of their Extra Large Double Bedrooms, which as the name suggests is certainly not short on space. The gorgeous, rustic interiors found in the public areas continue to echo through our bedroom, which is shabby chic and comes with some lovely furniture, including a gorgeous velvet sofa and arm chair where we thoroughly enjoyed a cup of tea. Our bathroom came complete with a good size walk-in shower, a wash basin and toilet. The towels were wonderfully thick and fluffy.

Wandering through the hotel you will find plenty of snugs in which to enjoy a pint or two before dining in their restaurant. You must take a look at the wall mounted bulls head, which provide a subtle nod to the hotel’s name. Breakfast includes a delicious continental selection and a menu of hot breakfast dishes is also available.

“Great food, a very comfortable night’s sleep and welcoming hospitality.”

If you’re looking for something to do during your stay, The Bull also boasts private fishing rights to a 1.25 mile stretch of the River Coln, which is an excellent spot for fishing for grayling and trout. Aside from which there’s plenty to do in the local area, such as taking a look around Fairford with its medieval church of St Mary’s; or partaking in an activity such as horse riding or sailing. The Bull is very conveniently located with excellent transport links throughout Gloucestershire, Whiltshire and the Cotswolds, so be sure to look into trips prior to your stay, or ask the friendly team during your visit. Whatever you want to do during your stay, the team at The Bull are always on hand to make suggestions or organise activities.

We couldn’t be more impressed with the service at The Bull Hotel, which throughout our stay was absolutely faultless. We would certainly like to return to The Bull again - it offers everything you might expect from a cosy getaway in the countryside; great food, a very comfortable night’s sleep and welcoming hospitality. It comes highly recommended by us as a fantastic place to stay in the Cotswolds.
