Situated in the prehistoric setting of Carnmenellis, Little White Alice offers a secluded and idyllic retreat for those looking to escape their noisy town or city. Nestled into the countryside, this collection of six self-catering properties creates a bubble of luxury amidst beautiful surroundings.

Little White Alice offers an eco-friendly escape and prides itself in a natural approach to relaxing luxury. The retreat has won numerous green travel awards and has been designed to be one of the greenest holiday destinations in the UK. The collection of cottages is accompanied by a wind turbine, creating electricity to help power the accommodation. The Cornish retreat also includes built-in insulation, triple glazed windows and water supplied from a nearby spring. The retreat also hosts solar panels to heat water and the owners harvest their own wood to fuel the beautiful fire pit.

Aside from the eco-friendly nature of the cottage, Little White Alice also provides all the natural and outdoor facilities you could ask for. BBQ facilities and dining tables are just the start; the herb garden, wooden hot-tub and swimming pool all create an enchanting haven for guests.

The swimming pool itself is set into the ground among wildlife and plants. The chemical-free pool is filtered using an environmentally friendly system which is in-keeping with the pools natural look and feel. Combined with the hot-tub and fire pit, the strikingly beautiful exterior of these cottages will have you embracing the cold evening breeze for as long as possible.

The rolling hills and nature reserve provide the perfect opportunity to get back to nature, inviting you to explore this natural wilderness as much as possible before returning back to your beautiful cottage base.

“This natural haven set in the idyllic setting of the Cornish countryside provides charming, relaxing and organic luxury”

During our visit we stayed in the Oak house cottage. This cottage sleeps up to eight people and contains a selection of twin and double rooms. The cottage defines luxury with its modern and elegant décor and beautiful finish to every room. The open-plan ground floor, contemporary lighting and granite kitchen services all provide a level of luxurious accommodation that is almost understated on the Little White Alice’s website.

All of the bedrooms were decorated to the highest level of comfort and charm and provided a welcome break from the chilly night-time air. The rooms were spacious and the master bedroom, in which we decided to stay, contained a large bed below a roof-top window; perfect for gazing at the stars.

The open-plan cottage invited the possibility of bringing the outside in; a large ten-seat dining table looked out into the beautifully presented garden with only patio doors separating them. The kitchen itself included the full-range of eco-appliances, providing everything we needed for a self-catering holiday.

Unlike many self-catering holidays, the Little White Alice cottages don’t impose restrictions on their guests and supply more than enough toiletries and products to see you through your holiday. This home-from-home even comes with a basket of locally produced food items to give you the perfect warm welcome.

This natural haven set in the idyllic setting of the Cornish countryside provides charming, relaxing and organic luxury for those wishing to find a wild and natural retreat. The cottages and friendly owners provide everything you need for your countryside break and create an enchanting atmosphere which will have you clinging to their ankles when your last day finally arrives..
