Stoke Park is a hotel and country club that can be found located in Buckinghamshire. During a recent visit, we decided we couldn’t not indulge in their afternoon tea offering, which is simply delicious and served in their Orangery. We have experienced afternoon tea at Stoke Park on numerous previous occasions, so we knew we were in for a treat. The setting is simply stunning with an abundance of natural light and unrestricted views of the immaculate grounds.

We opted for the champagne afternoon tea experience on this occasion. This option began with a fine glass of Perrier-Joüet, which came served perfectly chilled and really helped to put us in the mood for some delicious delectables. The service was faultless from the moment we arrived, and each course was promptly delivered to our table as we relaxed and took in the views.

Up first, we were presented with an array of uniformed sandwiches, which were quite something to look at. The fillings included cucumber and cream cheese, smoked salmon, chicken and lettuce, ham and mustard, egg and cress and tuna mayonnaise. The sandwiches were so fresh and delicious, and even though Stoke Park are generous with their portions, we probably could have gone for another round, however we decided not to.

“Everything from the presentation to the flavours and service was faultless...”

Next up we were presented with the most delicious scones - both plain and sultana - these were served with clotted cream and both strawberry and raspberry homemade preserves. These scones were decadent, traditional and ticked all the boxes we could have hoped for from our afternoon tea experience. The jams were delightful and offered the perfect tart sweetness against the decadent clotted cream.

Following the scones, we indulged in Stoke Park’s sweet treat offerings, which included a chocolate mousse shot, carrot cake, lemon tart and exotic fruit tart. These were again beautifully presented and offered exquisite flavours, with the tarts being a real highlight.

There were plenty of tea choices on the menu to suit all tastes. I chose the Planters breakfast tea from Sri Lanka, which certainly didn’t disappoint as I like a strong cup of tea and this certainly delivered. My partner went for the slightly more adventurous Radiant Rose tea which is also from Sri Lanka, and is sweet to the taste with the beautiful scent of rose petals to complete this elegant tea experience.

Overall we were impressed with our afternoon tea experience at Stoke Park, once again. Everything from the presentation to the flavours and service was faultless and we will not hesitate to return again, as this is an experience we’re only too happy to repeat. Because of this, it comes highly recommended by us as a great option if you’re staying at the hotel, or even if you fancy an afternoon out in the area.
