Sushi Roku can be found inside the W Hotel in Scottsdale. They offer some fine sushi dishes, sourced from waters all over the globe. Their skilled chefs prepare the meals with artistry and a special attention to detail.

The highlight of our visit was definitely the sushi. There was a lively atmosphere, the staff looked after us well, and we had a pleasant evening.

We sampled a couple of cocktails to start. We ordered a ‘Cucumber Gimlet’, prepared with Oxley Gin, shaken with Cucumbers, Lime Juice and Simple Syrup. Sweet to taste, went down very well indeed. We also ordered a ‘Melon Martini’ mixed with Grey Goose le Melon, Ginger Liqueur, St. Germain, Lemon Juice and a dash of Orange Bitters to add that bitter kick.

We ordered a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, Coppola, California 2012 for our table, and shared some Premium Edamame Okinawa with Sea Salt whilst browsing the menu.

“A great sushi restaurant, the food was delicious.”

For starters we ordered some sushi options. We ordered the Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll with Avocado, Baked Lobster Roll with Creamy Miso Sauce, and the Katana Roll, which is a Spicy Tuna and Shrimp Tempura Topped off with Tuna and Yellowtail. Each piece was perfectly hand crafted, and the flavors were divine.

For our main courses I ordered the Prime Rib Eye Steak “Japonais” with Japanese Style Potatoes, Garlic Green Beans, and Soy Garlic Sauce. The steak was a little well done for me personally, but still enjoyable, and the sauces complimented the flavor. My partner ordered the Grilled Salmon with Roku’s BBQ Sauce, served with Mashed Potatoes and Hijiki Seaweed. We added a side of Steamed White Rice to share, and that rounded off meal nicely.

A great sushi restaurant, the food was delicious. It’s the place to be for any sushi lover.
