Nestled in the edge of the grand Arizona Resort grounds, Aunt Chilada’s offers a wide range of Mexican cuisine. The name is obviously a playful take on the word enchilada, so there is no pretension behind what you’re in store for when visiting.
There is a large garden patio that can accommodate around 200 people, which I’m sure you will agree is huge. This is where we dined on our visit, taking advantage of the good weather and the lively atmosphere. The service was relaxed, but friendly. The portions are very generous, just as you’d expect from a Mexican establishment. While being mindful of the calories, it was hard not to finish off each plate.
“Good food, tasty wine, and a memorable experience.”
We started with a couple of cocktails as we got comfortable at our table. We decided on the Margaritas De La Casa, served on the rocks, and a Frozen Strawberry Margarita.
A visit to a Mexican restaurant like this wouldn’t be complete without a plate of Nacho’s. We ordered a plate to share, topped with generous amounts of Cheese, Beans, Olives, Green Chilies and Green Onions. Next we went with the Fajitas, filled with Steak and served sizzling table side. With Tortillas, Guacamole, Fresh Pico de Gallo and Sour Cream. This is a culinary delight for all the Mexican food fans, it was delicious.
We had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, 2011 from Napa Valley, and a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley 2012. They work well with most foods. The whole experience was a joy from start to finish. Good food, tasty wine, and a memorable experience.
